It seems that Photoshop won't open these files from a Windows 7 'Library' that points to a redirected folder. I am now lost and would like to receive helpful suggestions! PHOTOSHOP 2022 SAVE AS JPEG NOT AVAILABLE INSTALLI tried to install just Photoshop 64 Bit, not 32 bit (I don't really know why I get the two offered, to be honest.) Photoshop is confused by there? Well it is exactly how the laptop has always been in place, and it was already defined in this way before Photoshop has been installed. The only thing I think currently, is that I have 2 partitions on the laptop, with C: and a D: readers, with the users folder, which is held on D. If I click file-open and navigate to the file it will then open in Photoshop and Camera Raw 9.1.1 and the picture shows successfully. ![]() If I double-click on a new image, then a new instance of Photoshop is open, in addition to the already open instance, but still no picture. PHOTOSHOP 2022 SAVE AS JPEG NOT AVAILABLE SOFTWAREThe software is running, but it won't open the jpg or tif, and it does not open Camera Raw to display the RAW file. When I try to open an image file that Photoshop does not open, so the file type is associated with Photoshop, but that's all. Before you reinstall Windows Photoshop worked well. I installed Photoshop CS6 (64 and 32-bit) and I've installed all the updates it needs. It has all the necessary Windows updates. I recently reinstalled my laptop (64-bit) Windows 7 Pro. (Edit- sorry, Dave, not to repeat what you're saying, but I finally managed to get all this written up as a macro.Photoshop CS6 will not open the file image (.jpg. Platform parity has always been a sacred principle in Photoshop, so it had to be changed in the Windows version as well, even though it never was a problem on Windows. That fact was just hidden by Photoshop, but with Catalina it was no longer possible to hide. That is important to understand! The jpeg format does not allow 16 bit or layers. To be clear, saving a layered/16 bit file as jpeg saved out a copy the whole time. The Save As jpeg function was terminally broken and finished, and had to be totally rewritten. Apple did not want to change this, and there was no way for Adobe to work around it. Saving over a jpeg resulted in a separate file with "-copy" appended. That is important to understand! The jpeg format does not allow 16 bit depth, layers, transparency or alpha channels. This is not a bug, but a deliberate policy from Apple. The Save As jpeg function was rendered useless by this and had to be totally rewritten. The programming function to strip "-copy" from the filename had been removed by Apple, and there was no way for Adobe to work around it. ![]() "Save As" now lists only the formats that support all the current properties of the file. ![]()
